HALF DAY MEDICI TOUR
On this tour we will follow the steps of the Medici, the family that ruled Florence for three centuries.
The itinerary starts with the Medici palace and its superb “Chapel of the Magies” painted by Benozzo Gozzoli and continues with the visit of the church of San Lorenzo designed by Filippo Brunelleschi.
Behind the church we discover the Medici Chapels, the mausoleum of the family, where most of the members are buried and which includes the New sacristy sculpted by Michelangelo.
The tour ends up in the Piazza della Signoria, an outstanding open air museum was used by the Medici as a political propaganda site.
