Visit the splendid city of Siena with its gothic Cathedral, narrow streets, ancient towers and great oval shaped Piazza del Campo where the famous Palio horse race takes place every year on July 2nd and on August 16th. Your next stop is the medieval hill top village of San Gimignano famous for the splendid medieval towers. As today 13 of the 72 original towers still remain intact and San Gimignano is also part of the Unesco World Heritage Site. This quaint village is also home to a variety of artisans shops selling all kind of local produce and quality souvenirs. Enjoy the wonderful views over the gently rolling hills and Tuscany postcard famous cypress trees. Your tour will then continue on to Monteriggioni, another picturesque medieval hilltop village which boasts ancient city walls (the village was once used as a fortress) and quaint little streets and squares, a place that will really take you back in time. The tour ends in beautiful Chianti with a drive through some of Tuscany’s most breathtaking landscapes where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the best Italian wines.
